On August 29 — the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine, who died in the struggle for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of our state — the Heroes' Alley was opened in the central Zmiyev Park.
This space has become another symbol of gratitude and eternal memory of those who gave their lives for our future. There are 28 memorial signs with photos of our compatriots - Heroes of Zmiiv, who will never return home, but will remain with us forever - in our hearts, in our memories, in our history.
The event was attended by relatives of the deceased, the first deputy head of the Chuguiv District Military Administration, Konstantin Kozlitin, Zmiiv City Mayor Pavlo Golodnikov, representatives of local authorities, law enforcement agencies, and Zmiiv residents.
"From now on, such places of remembrance for the fallen compatriots are being set up in every starosta district of the Zmiiv community. We will do everything in our power to ensure that the memory of our Heroes is passed down from generation to generation. Their names are forever inscribed not only in the history of our city, but also of all of Ukraine," Pavlo Golodnikov noted.
We bow our heads to the bright memory of the Heroes.
We thank their families for raising true Defenders of Ukraine.
We are grateful to everyone who stands in defense of our state today.
May the Alley of Heroes become a place of unity, deep respect, and sincere prayer for those who gave their lives for the freedom of Ukraine.
We remember!
