A place of honor and remembrance for the fallen Heroes of our countrymen was opened on November 25 in the center of the village of Borova.
The ceiling immortalizes the names of five defenders who died during the Russian-Ukrainian war between 2014 and 2024.
Serhiy Sirenko, died on July 27, 2017 in the city of Kurakhove, Donetsk region.
Mykhailo Zhykharev, died on March 12, 2022 near the village of Stepne, Volnovakha district.
Artem Mitrofanov, died on February 11, 2023 in the area of the settlement of Mintivka, Donetsk region.
Yevhen Borodin, died on May 7, 2023 in the area of the settlement of Bakhmut, Donetsk region.
Oleksandr Kalinichenko, died on January 5, 2024 near the settlement of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region.
"Today, another place has appeared in our community where we can gather to honor the memory of the defenders," said Zmiiv City Mayor Pavlo Golodnikov in his speech. "Unfortunately, war takes away the best and our task: to do everything possible so that their faces and names remain in our memory forever! And future generations should know about their exploits in order to understand what price Ukraine pays for its Independence!"
The mayor expressed his condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers, emphasizing that they are all Heroes!
The memory of the fallen soldiers-compatriots was honored with a minute of silence. Fresh flowers were placed next to the photos of the Heroes.
Alleys of Glory will be built in the centers of all starosta districts of the Zmiiv territorial community. Places of remembrance are being built with funds from the local budget.
