Our compatriot, Andriy Solyanyk, a resident of the village of Zidky, Zmiivska community, died in the battle for Ukraine, its freedom and independence.
The soldier, a senior rifleman-operator of the 3rd assault specialized detachment of the 3rd assault specialized platoon of the 2nd assault specialized company (ShKVAL) of military unit A7400, gave his life on January 19, 2025, during fierce defensive battles near the settlement of Kurakhove in the Donetsk region.
In November 2024, Andriy joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He went to defend the country.
Contact with him was lost on January 19, 2025. Since then, he has been considered missing.
For ten long months, his family waited for news, believed and prayed. And only now did it become known that Andriy died as a Hero.
His body is returning home - to where they have been waiting for him so long. To where his name will remain in memory forever.

Private Andriy Solyanyk, senior rifleman-operator of the 3rd assault specialized detachment of the 3rd assault specialized platoon of the 2nd assault specialized company (ShKVAL) of military unit A7400, died while courageously performing his military duty in the battle for Ukraine, its freedom and independence, on January 19, 2025 during defensive actions in the area of the settlement of Kurakhove, Donetsk region.
Andriy was born on August 28, 1979 in the village of Zidki in a friendly large family. He studied at the Zidkiv school. Immediately after graduating, he went to work to help his family. He loved technology, which is why he chose the profession of a car mechanic.
In November 2024, Andriy was drafted into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine upon mobilization. Since January 19, contact with him has been lost. He was considered missing. And only after ten months of waiting and uncertainty, the Hero's body returns home.
We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. We bow our heads in sorrow before the feat of Andriy Solyanyk.
May the Lord grant peace to his soul, and may his native community never forget his name.

On October 28, the fallen Defender Andriy Solyanyk was buried in the village of Zidky. Since January 2025, the man had been considered missing. After months of waiting and uncertainty, the Hero returned home - "on the shield."

Representatives of local authorities, fellow citizens, friends, and fellow villagers came to say goodbye to the fallen Hero and support Andriy's family.
Andriy was born on August 28, 1979 in the village of Zidki in a friendly large family. He studied at the Zidkiv school, after which he began his career to help his family. He worked as a car mechanic.
In November 2024, Andriy was drafted into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine upon mobilization, and on January 19, contact with him was lost. Ukraine pays the highest price for its freedom. Its best sons and daughters stand in defense of their native land, repel the enemy, and hold the sky above us - often until their last breath.
We thank our Heroes – those who defend Ukraine today, and those who gave their lives for it.
We remember. We bow. We honor everyone.
