Bogdan Kukhtin 03/13/2001-01/19/2025

🕯The Zmiiv City Council announces with deep sadness the irreparable loss for our community - the death of Kukhtin Bohdan, the courageous Defender of Ukraine, who gave his life defending the freedom, independence, and territorial integrity of our state.

Bohdan Kukhtin was born on May 13, 2001 in the village of Bezpalivka. He studied at Pershotravneva (Veletenskaya) comprehensive school, where he established himself as an active, responsible and caring student, enjoyed sincere respect among teachers and classmates, was proactive, open and always at the center of school life.

After graduating from school, Bohdan entered the State Vocational and Technical Educational Institution "Kharkiv Higher Vocational School of Services", where he obtained the profession of a shoemaker. After receiving a diploma, he worked in his specialty, conscientiously performing his work and making plans for the future.

From a young age, Bohdan was fond of sports, especially football. He sincerely loved life, knew how to enjoy every day, had many friends, was the soul of the company, a person with an open heart and a keen sense of justice. These are the traits that became decisive in his life choices.

On November 19, 2024, Bohdan made a conscious decision to defend the country and joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a grenade launcher in the 3rd assault specialized detachment of the 1st assault specialized platoon of the 2nd assault specialized company (ShKVAL) of military unit A7400.

On January 19, 2025, while performing a combat mission near the settlement of Kurakhove, Donetsk region, Bohdan went missing. Relatives and friends of the latter lived in hope for a miracle. Unfortunately, after conducting a DNA examination, it became known about his death. The fallen Warrior returns to his native land "on a shield."

The Zmiiv City Council expresses its sincere condolences to the family, loved ones, friends and comrades of the Hero. We share your pain and bow our heads low before the bright memory of the Defender.

The feat of Bohdan Kukhtin will forever remain in the history of our community and Ukraine.
