πŸ•―πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ•― The Zmiiv territorial community bows its heads in deep sorrow before the bright memory of the Hero-Defender Maksym Butenko from the village of Pershotravneve (Veleten)

Private Maksym Butenko, a rifleman (assistant machine gunner) of the 2nd machine gun detachment of the air cover platoon of the 3051st high-altitude air defense unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, died on September 12, 2024, while performing a combat mission as a result of enemy artillery fire, near the settlement of New York, Donetsk region.

The Zmiiv City Council expresses its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. Together with you, we share the pain and longing in this bitter hour.

Maksym's death is a heavy, irreparable loss for the entire Zmiiv community.

Maxim will live forever in the memory of his descendants, in the history of the liberation struggle of Ukraine. He passed away, but won immortality with his feat in the name of his native land.

Previously, Maksym worked at the Pershotravnev Gymnasium. In February 2024, he began his military career - without hesitation, he joined the National Guard of Ukraine.

On September 12, 2024, our compatriot Maksym Butenko was killed as a result of artillery fire while performing a combat mission in the Donetsk region.
