Life story

Dmytro was born in the city of Zmiiv, Kharkiv region. He studied at school No. 2. Then he received a degree in landscape design from a college. He worked as a driver, security guard, and handyman. For some time he had a job in commercial forestry. He loved football and was interested in cars. In 2016, he participated in the ATO in Donbas.

On February 24, 2022, Dmytro, with the words “Who, if not me?”, again took up arms to fight against the occupiers and defend his native lands. He joined the ranks of the 121st Separate Territorial Defense Battalion (military unit A7287) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took up the position of assistant rifleman and grenade launcher and went to the front line.

"Defending the Motherland from the Russian aggressor, a serviceman of the Krasnograd Separate Battalion of the Territorial Defense Organization, Dmytro Volodymyrovych Demyanenko, died. Defending the borders of his native Kharkiv region from insidious Russian terrorists, the best sons of Ukraine are moving from earthly to heavenly ranks, forever engraving their names in golden letters in the modern history of a free and independent state. It is very painful for everyone. We must remember every day what price was paid for our lives. We share the burning pain of loss with the relatives and brothers of the courageous Hero. We bow our heads in deep sorrow," the Krasnograd Regional State Administration noted.

The soldier was buried in his hometown.

Dmytro is survived by his parents, sister, wife, and two daughters.

Zmiiv resident Dmytro Demyanenko would have turned 33 in November. He still has a whole life ahead of him with a lot of plans, dreams, and hopes. However, the damned war with the Russian occupiers stopped the heart of a loving husband and father, a caring son and brother, a loyal friend, and a true defender of Ukraine, who remained faithful to his military oath until his last breath.

On May 5, senior soldier Dmytro Demyanenko, a grenade launcher assistant rifleman of the 1st mechanized detachment of the 1st mechanized platoon of the mechanized company of the A7287 military unit, was killed as a result of enemy tank shelling near the village of Goptivka, Kharkiv region.

Dmitry was seen off on his final earthly journey on May 7.
