On December 20, the state award was presented to the Hero's daughter, Polina, in Kyiv.
Senior soldier Maksym Fedota, a flamethrower of the 1st assault detachment, 1st assault platoon, 2nd assault company, 2nd assault battalion of military unit A4638, died on January 9, 2025 in the area of ​​the settlement of Zeleny Gay, Izyum district, Kharkiv region, while defending Ukraine.

Maksym was born on March 2, 1991 in Zmiiv, in a friendly and creative family. He studied at Zmiiv Lyceum No. 1, later at the Kharkiv Road Technical School. After studying, he completed his military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After returning home, he worked as a car mechanic, helped people, and made plans for the future.
On September 23, 2013, Maksym started a family. Together with his wife, they raised a daughter.
In July 2022, Maksym voluntarily stood up to defend his homeland. Without hesitation – with a deep awareness of responsibility for his country, his family, and his home.
He will forever remain for us a model of courage, bravery, and true patriotism.
