🕯 Zmiiv City Council sadly announces another irreparable loss suffered by our community.

THE ZMIIV COMMUNITY AGAIN BOWS ITS HEADS LOWLY TO THE BRIGHT MEMORY OF OUR HERO-COUNTRYMAN, RESIDENT OF THE VILLAGE OF TARANIVKA, MYKOLA GORBACHEV.

Senior soldier Mykola Serhiyovych Gorbachev, a sniper of the 1st motorized infantry detachment of the 3rd motorized infantry platoon of the 5th motorized infantry company of the 2nd motorized infantry battalion of military unit A1302, died courageously fulfilling his military duty in the battle for Ukraine, its freedom and independence in the village of Bilokuzminivka, Donetsk region, on May 12, 2023.

Mykola was born on October 10, 1990 in the village of Taranivka, in a friendly large family.

He studied at the Taranivska school, was a leader in his class. After graduating from school in 2007, he was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine for compulsory service. After being demobilized, he got a job in the SIZO security service. In recent years, he has worked at the private enterprise "Ekipazh", which manufactures and installs metal-plastic structures.

In September 2020, Mykola signed a contract and joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He defended the country in the East, taking part in the joint forces operation.

The full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers into the territory of Ukraine in February 2022 found Mykola at his place of service. He participated in the battles for Kharkiv. Then there were Barvenkovo…Mariupol…Sumy…Bakhmut…

He had contusions and injuries.

He served in the 93rd Kholodny Yar Brigade.

Mykola is survived by his loving family - two children (daughter Myroslava and son Yegor), a brother and sisters.

The Zmiiv City Council expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. At this bitter moment, we share with you the unquenchable pain of losing your dearest person and bow our heads in deep sorrow.
