"Oleg Krasny died on November 26, 2022 in the settlement of Opytne, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region, remaining faithful to his military oath until his last breath," the message said.
Oleg Krasny was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine: "He courageously and loyally defended his country from the Russian occupiers as the commander of the combat vehicle of the 2nd assault detachment of the VC A3488."
Before the invasion, Krasny served in the police, and from 2002 to 2003 he was on a mission to Kosovo as part of the UN peacekeeping mission, the city council says.
"In 2018, he retired due to years of service and was able to devote more time to his large family - his wife, two children, mother, and sisters," the city council said in a statement.
The farewell ceremony for Oleg Krasny will begin at 11:00.
