🕯Our fellow countryman, combat medic Roman Maryonkin, died as a result of artillery shelling.

The 25-year-old defender's life was cut short as a result of artillery shelling in the Donetsk region on December 25.

A farewell was held today for a senior combat medic in the village of Birki, Zmiivska community.

Roman Maryonkin was born on March 6, 1997 in Zmiiv. He studied at Birkivska School until the 9th grade, then transferred to Pershotrayneva. In 2017, he graduated from Kharkiv Mechanical Engineering College. And in the same year, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Our defender completed three rotations in the Joint Forces Operation area.

With the start of the full-scale invasion, on February 24, Roman was again called up for military service — to defend the Kharkiv region. Later, his unit was transferred to the Donetsk direction.

Roman began his service as a signalman, and later retrained as a military medic. He was awarded the Ivan Sirko Medal.

Relatives, friends, acquaintances, comrades-in-arms, and grateful countrymen came to pay tribute to the courageous defender of Ukraine.

We bow our heads, sharing the pain of irreparable loss with our relatives and honoring the bright memory of a worthy son of Ukraine.

Every death is a huge loss.

On December 29, the village of Birky said goodbye to the fallen hero Roman Maryonkin. The guy was only 25 years old.

From the first days of the war, Roman and his father went to defend their native land from the enemy. He started as a signalman, later retrained as a combat medic. After the defense of the Kharkiv region, his unit was transferred to the Donetsk direction. On December 25, near the settlement of Stupochky, he received injuries incompatible with life.
