The hero comes from the village of Chemuzhivka, Zmiivska community, where he graduated from the local school, and later from the Zmiivska Professional Energy Lyceum. After military service, he worked at the Kharkiv Coke Plant and in the ATB chain of stores.

Mykola was a family man — he and his wife raised two daughters. In 2024, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the summer of the same year, he went missing during a combat mission, and his family waited for almost a year for a miracle. But the most terrible thing became known — soldier Mykola Pobazhansky, a driver of a mechanized platoon of military unit A4941, died in the area of ​​Novoselivka Pershaya in the Donetsk region.
