Today would have been the 44th birthday of our compatriot, a faithful son of Ukraine, Hero Oleksandr Khomenko…
But the war took his life.
Oleksandr Khomenko was born on August 3, 1981 in the picturesque Vysochynivka.
He studied at the Sokoliv School and worked as a telecommunications network engineer at Media-Zmiiv Private Enterprise.
He lived a quiet, hardworking life, but when the enemy brought war to our land, he did not hesitate to change his civilian clothes into military camouflage.
"My duty is to defend our land for the sake of my parents, my wife, for the sake of my daughters, and the free future of my grandchildren,"
— said Alexander.
He spent his military career in the very hell of the front, in the hottest areas.
He was wounded, but after treatment he returned to service.
Junior sergeant, senior rifleman of the 1st mechanized detachment of the 2nd company of the VC A4279 - he died on March 22, 2023 near the village of Bohdanivka, Bakhmut district.
For a long time, Alexander was considered missing...
Today we bow our heads in sorrow and gratitude.
He passed away, but he will forever remain among those who gave us the right to live and breathe the free Ukrainian air.
🕯 Eternal memory and glory to the Hero!
Glory to Ukraine! 🇺🇦
