🇺🇦🕯OUR COMPATRIANT, SENIOR SERGEANT VITALIY PONOMARENKO, DIED DEFENDING UKRAINE.

Machine gunner of the 3rd rifle division of the 1st rifle platoon of the 1st rifle company of military unit A7383, senior sergeant.

He died near the settlement of Bakhmut, Donetsk region.

This was reported by the Zmiiv City Council. The man had been considered missing since 2023.

Vitaliy was born on November 9, 1972 in Kramatorsk. He connected his professional activities with law enforcement agencies.

He served in one of the special units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. In recent years, he has worked as a dog handler.

After the full-scale invasion, Vitaliy did not hesitate to defend the country. On March 11, 2022, he was enlisted in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During his service, the man destroyed the enemy in many hot spots. He participated in the liberation of the Kharkiv region.

Awarded the medal "For the Defense of Kharkiv" and the award of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - "Golden Cross".

Senior Sergeant Vitaliy Ponomarenko, call sign "Panas", a machine gunner of the 3rd Rifle Detachment, 1st Rifle Platoon, 1st Rifle Company, military unit A7383, heroically died in battle for Ukraine on April 27, 2023 in the area of ​​the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk region.

The deceased Hero is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a grandson.
