On April 30, 2025, Serhiy Romanchenko heroically died in battle near the settlement of Veterinarne in the Kharkiv region. The Hero was born in the city of Zmiiv, where he spent his childhood and youth. He studied at Zmiiv School No. 2. His sincere smile and good nature made him a favorite of his classmates and teachers.

After school, Serhiy graduated from a driving school in Izyum, served his military service, and began his career. For many years, he worked as a turner at the Zmiiv Machine-Building Plant, was a well-known craftsman and a man with "golden hands." In his free time, he was fond of woodcarving, viticulture, and fishing.

He and his wife lived together for 27 years and raised their daughter Anastasia.

In June 2024, Serhiy was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a grenade launcher, faithfully and worthily fulfilling his duty to Ukraine.

Eternal glory to the Hero! We remember at what cost!

The farewell ceremony will take place on May 5 at 12:00 in Zmiiv (near the flagpole).

Serhiy Romanchenko, a kind, sincere person, a loving husband and father, a reliable friend, and a brave Defender of Ukraine, was laid to rest in his native Zmiiv. He died on April 30, 2025, during hostilities in the Kharkiv region near the settlement of Veterinarne.

Sergey was born on January 13, 1969. His whole life is connected with Zmiev. Here he grew up, studied, worked, and started a family. He was known as a man with golden hands, a kind heart, and a sincere smile. For many years, the man worked as a turner at a machine-building plant, loved nature, fishing, grew grapes, and made crafts from wood.

Serhiy had a strong, loving family, where warmth and support reigned. He and his wife lived together for 27 years and raised their daughter Anastasia.

When war came to the country, Serhiy did not stay away. In June 2024, he was mobilized. He served as a grenade launcher, performing combat missions with dignity and honor, defending his native land.

Serhiy Romanchenko will forever remain in our hearts as a Man with a capital letter β€” sincere, hardworking, loving, and devoted to his country.

We thank him for his protection, for his courage, for his love for Ukraine.
