Serhiy Vasylevich Sirenko (October 25, 1980, Krasna Polyana village, Zmiiv district, Kharkiv region, Ukrainian SSR - July 29, 2017, Krasnohorivka city, Maryinsky district, Donetsk region, Ukraine) was a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a participant in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Biography
Born in 1980 in the village of Krasna Polyana, Zmiiv district, Kharkiv region.
During the Russian armed aggression against Ukraine in March 2017, he entered military service under a contract, and after completing training, he participated in an anti-terrorist operation.
Soldier, driver of the anti-tank platoon of the 1st mechanized battalion of the 92nd separate mechanized brigade, military unit A0501, village of Klugino-Bashkyrivka, Kharkiv region.
He died on July 29, 2017 at around 8:00 a.m. during shelling of a brigade stronghold near the city of Krasnohorivka — three 120 mm mines exploded near the trench, six servicemen were injured.
He was buried on August 1 in the cemetery of the village of Krasnaya Polyana.
Awards and honors
By Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 318/2017 of October 11, 2017, for personal courage and selfless actions shown in protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, exemplary performance of military duty, he was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd degree (posthumously).
