Serhiy Sysoyev was born in Zmiiv, Kharkiv region. After school, he studied to be a cook at Zmiiv Vocational College. Later, he received a degree in hotel and restaurant management from Mykolaiv University. He was fond of fishing, cycling, ecotourism, and was seriously involved in sports. He was a master of sports in kickboxing. Public activist, participant of the Revolution of Dignity and the Kharkiv Euromaidan.
Since 2017, the man served in the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center named after the Kosh Ataman Antin Holovaty. He was a senior weapons operator, a reconnaissance diver. He participated in the ATO/JFO in Donbas. During the full-scale invasion, Serhiy continued to defend Ukraine from the invaders.
Sergeant Major 2nd article Serhiy Sysoyev, call sign Partizan, died on June 15, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the Kherson direction. The soldier was 25 years old.
The fighter was posthumously awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd degree.
"Serhiy was a professional soldier, skillfully wielded various weapons, was a paramedic in the group, had mountain, diving, and airborne training. He represented the unit at various competitions, including hand-to-hand combat. Purposeful and brave, he was never afraid of difficulties. He was the best husband and loving father. Although work came first for him, he always found time for his family. I am proud of him and grateful for the Ukrainian future of our child. The collection of poetry "Man as a Battlefield" is dedicated to him," said the deceased's wife, Iryna.
Serhiy was buried on the Alley of Heroes in his hometown.
The defender is survived by his mother, brother, grandmother, wife, and daughter.
In Zmiyev, a local youth school was named after the hero.
In December 2022, a petition was registered on the website of the head of state to award Serhiy Oleksandrovych Sysoyev the title of Hero of Ukraine (posthumously). Unfortunately, it did not receive the required number of votes.
