Dmytro Sivkov: now and forever - a Zmiiv resident, our fellow countryman

On March 31, 2024, in the village of Zidky, the Zmiiv community said goodbye to Dmytro Sivkov, a military man who gave his life for the freedom, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Dmytro Sivkov was born on June 19, 1996 in Andriivka, Balakliya (now Izyum) district.

He graduated from local school No. 2, then studied at the Kharkiv Railway Lyceum, obtaining the profession of assistant to the electric locomotive driver. He worked at the Osnova depot, from where he was called up for military service - from 2016 to 2017 he served in the 93rd Mostysk Border Guard Detachment of the Lviv region.

In 2020, he settled in the village of Zidky, Zmiivska community.

On February 24, 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine. And on February 25, 2022, Dmytro Sivkov was mobilized to defend Ukraine.

Initially, he served in military unit A1352. During the de-occupation of the Kupyansky district, together with the Kraken unit, he participated in the liberation of the village of Kyslivka.

From June 22, 2023, he served as the senior driver of the 2nd assault detachment of the 3rd assault platoon of the 3rd assault company of the 225th assault battalion of the 115th separate mechanized brigade.

On February 12, 2024, in the area of ​​the settlement of Yuzhnoye, Donetsk region, he suffered a mine-explosive injury as a result of enemy artillery fire.

Died on March 24, 2024 in the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital named after I.I. Mechnikov as a result of injuries received.

Buried on March 31, 2024 in Zidki.
