Private Ruslan Tymchenko, a rifleman-medic of the 3rd detachment, 2nd patrol platoon, 2nd patrol company of the rifle battalion VC 3051 of the National Guard of Ukraine, died while performing a combat mission on September 12, 2024 as a result of enemy artillery fire near the settlement of New York, Donetsk region.
Ruslan was born and raised in the village of Zidki. He graduated from a local school, after which he continued his studies at the Kharkiv Vocational Lyceum of Construction and Motor Transport.
After graduation, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He worked at the Zmiiv paper factory, then in the security police department.
Since 2024, he has been defending the country as part of the National Guard of Ukraine.
The Hero is survived by his parents and sister.
Representatives of the authorities, his comrades-in-arms, classmates, friends, and fellow villagers came to say goodbye to Ruslan Timchenko. Everyone who knew, respected, and loved him.
The soldier was buried in the local cemetery.
