He died near the settlement of Piddubne, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region.

Ukraine has paid another high price for freedom and independence. A true Hero has died - a man of honor, a big heart, and unwavering dignity, a resident of the Zmiiv community - Vitaliy Rudnytskyi.

Vitaliy was born on May 7, 1986 in the village of Zadonetske. When he was three years old, he moved with his family to the city of Zmiiv, where he grew up and studied. He graduated from Zmiiv Lyceum No. 2, and in 2003 entered the Kharkiv Professional Lyceum of Railway Transport, where he received the specialty of assistant locomotive and electric locomotive driver.

After graduating, he served in the Nikopol Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment. He participated in combat operations in the ATO zone in 2014–2015.

Before the full-scale war, he worked at the Zmiiv Dairy Plant.

Vitaliy was an extremely family man. A loving son, a caring father to his son, a good brother. He had many friends, was fond of nature, fishing and beekeeping.

Vitaliy joined the defense of the country on March 8, 2022. He served in the battalion of unmanned systems of military unit A4741, held the position of chief sergeant of a platoon of strike unmanned aviation complexes. He served in the hottest spots, was repeatedly awarded:

August 19, 2024 — the award "For the Defense of Ukraine"

December 10, 2024 — award "For the Defense of Chasovy Yar"

December 17, 2024 - awarded the "Golden Cross"

On May 27, 2025, Vitaliy died while performing a combat mission near the settlement of Piddubne, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region.

The Zmiiv City Council expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Voin.

The bright memory of Hero Vitaly Rudnytsky will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew, respected and loved him.

His feat is an example of courage, strength of spirit, and love for his native land.

We bow our heads in mourning and eternal gratitude.

Heroes don't die. They live on in the memory of their people.

The farewell ceremony for Vitaliy Rudnytskyi will take place on August 8 at 12:00 in the central park of Zmiyev.

On August 8, the last earthly journey of the defender, Hero, and Zmiiv resident - Vitaliy Rudnytskyi - was conducted in Zmiiv.

Representatives of the authorities, his comrades-in-arms, friends, and residents of Zmiiv came to pay their last respects to the fallen soldier and support Vitaliy's family and friends.

Vitaliy was born on May 7, 1986 in the village of Zadonetske, and has lived in Zmiiv since the age of three. Vitaliy defended Ukraine in 2014-2015 in the Joint Forces Operation zone. And since March 2022, he has again gone to the front to defend Ukraine from a full-scale invasion. He served in the unmanned systems battalion of military unit A4741, was the chief sergeant of a platoon of strike unmanned aircraft complexes.

He served in the hottest spots. For his courage and devotion, he was awarded the following decorations:

"For the Defense of Ukraine"

"For the defense of Chasovy Yar"

"Golden Cross"

We express our sincere condolences to Vitaliy's family, loved ones, friends, and comrades-in-arms. His loss is an indescribable pain for the entire Zmiiv community.
