🕯️🇺🇦 Defender from Zmiiv region died in a traffic accident - Yuriy Shcherbyna

In May 2025, Zlatopilskyi Bakery driver Yuriy Shcherbyna decided that he could no longer stand aside. He used to deliver bread to the front lines every day — to those who kept the sky above our homes. But in the end, he himself became one of them.

Yuriy volunteered to serve, becoming a soldier and foreman of the excavation equipment group of military unit No. 9938. He was accepted into the 3rd border detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine, Colonel Yevheniy Pikus — where those who do not look for easy ways serve.

He performed tasks alongside his brothers, worked, helped, and defended.

But on September 20, 2025, fate cut short his path - Yuriy died in a traffic accident near the settlement of Rohan, Kharkiv region.

Yuriy Shcherbyna was born on May 11, 1971 in the village of Rozdolne, Zmiivska community. He studied at the Taranivska school, worked with his hands all his life, was hardworking and calm.

Before the war, he was known as a driver for TM "Roma" (Zlatopil Bakery) - a man who daily transported bread to where it was most difficult.

The Hero is survived by his wife, daughter, and son, who since 2023 has also been defending Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
